Hotel

Situated at the end of the ‘Road to the Isles’ The West Highland Hotel is an elegant, stone built property which has stood overlooking the  village of Mallaig since the arrival of the West Highland Railway Line in the early 1900s.

Being only a short walk from both the railway station and the ferry link between mainland Scotland and the Inner Hebrides it is ideally located for all travellers hoping to explore the delights of Lochaber and Knoydart.

The hotel still retains the traditional charm of an age gone but with comfortable modern en-suite rooms. Sine and Gavin Davis purchased this 40 bedroom hotel in 2010 continuing the hotels tradition of being independent and family run. During the winter of 2010/11 the first phase of a 6 year improvement project has been completed. This comprised the refurbishment of 13 bedrooms and redecoration of the restaurant, lounge and bar.

All the public areas and the majority of bedrooms look out across to the nearby Islands providing the most striking and colourful evenings as the sun sets behind the Cuillin mountains of Skye.

The West Highland Hotel offers you one of the most picturesque places to eat in the area. Depending on whether you prefer a light snack in relaxed surroundings or a formal dinner in the elegant dining room we can offer you a choice of four different areas to enjoy your meal.

There is ample car parking available to the front and rear of the hotel.
